The North Midlands Cross Country League season came to a dramatic close on Saturday 10th January 2026 at Bulwell Hall Park, Nottingham, with runners facing snow- and ice-covered ground rather than the usual mud. Despite the wintry underfoot conditions, the day brought pleasantly warm weather, making for a memorable and equally challenging finale to the league season. Redhill Road Runners once again fielded 4 teams across all categories and finished the campaign with several excellent team and individual performances.
Ladies’ Results
The Redhill ladies’ veteran team put in an outstanding collective effort to secure 3rd place overall. The senior ladies’ team also ran strongly against tough opposition, finishing 14th overall.
Individually, there were some superb overall performances for our ladies who completed all the races with Michelle Butler winning individual gold in the W55 category, and Rosemary Horn was third in the W65 category. Well done also to Roisin McNally for completing all the series races.
Men’s Results
The men also rose to the challenge of the icy conditions. The veteran men’s team finished a solid 5th overall, while the senior men’s team secured 10th place, rounding off a strong showing for the club.

Well done to Simon Nash, Pete McNally and Michael Horn who completed all races in the series and particular congratulations to Simon Nash, who came second in the M60 category.
With snow and ice underfoot and sunshine overhead, the final race at Bulwell Hall Park was a true test of cross-country skill and resilience. Redhill’s performances across all teams and age groups provided a fitting end to the 2025–26 North Midlands Cross Country League season. Congratulations to everyone who raced and supported throughout the league.
A special thank you goes to XC Team Manager Paul Newton for collecting the tokens and organising the team submissions throughout the season.
Next cross-country race is the East Midlands series with race 1 on Sunday 25th January at Bramcote Park. This is a friendly entry-level race series with all runners setting off at 11 am.
