When are Redhill Road Runners club training nights?
-
The club meets on Monday & Wednesday evenings - Meet 6pm onwards to run for 6:10pm.
Where is the meeting point for club training?
-
Inside the Redhill Young Peoples Centre, adjacent to Redhill Leisure Centre, where we can also use the showers, lockers, changing facilities and car park.
The address for the Leisure Centre is Redhill Road, Arnold, Nottingham NG5 8GX
Does the club have qualified coaches?
-
The club has a number of England Athletics-trained run leaders and coaches. We aim to provide a run leader/coach for 5 different groups on Monday and Wednesday evenings, although this is not guaranteed all the time.
How fast are the training groups?
-
Our five training groups are titled A, B, C, D and E and differ by the pace they run at.
-
The run leaders will organise different types of runs for their groups, some at a steady pace, some at a more demanding pace, and often group leaders will incorporate different types of efforts into their runs, these could be short, or longer, or uphill or downhill.
-
Group A is the speediest group, warming up and cooling down at sub 8 minute mile pace, if you are completing a parkrun in under 23 minutes, this is the group for you.
-
Group B complete their warm-up and cool down between 8-9 minute mile pace, and if you are completing a park run under 26 minutes, this would be a good group for you.
-
Group C complete their warm-up and cool down between 9-10 minute mile pace, and if you are completing a parkrun in under 29 minutes, this is the group for you.
-
Group D complete their warm-up and cool down between 10-11.5 minute mile pace, and if you are completing a parkrun in under 34 minutes, this is the group for you.
-
Group E complete their warm-up and cool down in over 11.5 minutes per mile pace, and if you are completing a parkrun in under 40 minutes, this is a good group for you.
The club posts on the members' Facebook page the day before the training days, details on what run leader/coach is able to lead which group. If you are not a member and are looking to trial a club session you can message us at the public Facebook page for details of that week's sessions.
Are there training sessions for junior runners?
-
Unfortunately, we are only able to allow over 18's to be members or participate in our sessions.
