Redhill at the Holme Pierrepont Christmas Relays

Redhill Road Runners enjoyed a strong and festive showing at the Holme Pierrepont Christmas Relays, held on Sunday 29 December, with five teams taking on the fast and competitive relay course.

Adding to the fun, many Redhill runners fully embraced the Christmas spirit, taking advantage of the opportunity to race in fancy dress, with the course featuring a colourful mix of Santas, elves and angels alongside the serious racing.

The standout performance came from the “Merry Old Farts”, who ran superbly to finish 5th overall and claim 1st place in the Veteran category. Strong and consistent legs from Ali Campbell, Michelle Butler, Fran Santos and Leigh Stubbs saw the team take a well-deserved victory in their category against tough opposition.

Redhill also made the top ten overall, with “Dashing Through the Competition” finishing an excellent 9th, led off by a rapid opening leg from Dan Thorpe and backed up by solid performances across the team.

Further down the field, The Grinch Gang, Tinsel Terriers, and Old Age Elves all embraced the festive atmosphere and put in determined performances, rounding off a great club turnout and closing the year on a high note.
